World FM Day takes the theme ‘Inspire, Integrate, Innovate: Ignite your career in FM’ and will be celebrated on 8 May 2024.
Join us in celebrating and supporting World FM Day, which recognises and praises the vital work that workplace and facilities managers and the wider industry contribute to business worldwide. The day aims to raise the profile of the facilities profession anywhere that its practitioners influence the health, safety, productivity, and well-being of people who use the built environment.
Speaking to Global FM ahead of World FM Day 2024, John Carrillo CFM, IFMA Fellow and Chairman of Global FM, said,
“World FM Day is the opportunity to recognise the behind-the-scenes heroes that keep our workplace safe and productive while providing for a healthy environment. We also acknowledge the opportunities that FM provides for careers and ongoing professional FM Development.”
The Global Facility Management Association (Global FM) has recognised three IWFM nominees at its Global FM Awards of Excellence, which have received Gold, Silver and High Commendation status. The diversity on display expresses the range of workplace and facilities management (WFM) career paths that IWFM facilitates through its advocacy, education and training.
- The British Antarctic Survey (BAS) which won Team of the Year: Public or Third Sector category at the 2023 IWFM Impact Awards, received a Gold Award from Global FM for its team efforts.
- A collaboration by Mitie and E.ON, which won in IWFM’s People Development and Talent Retention category, scooped a Global FM Silver Award for their ‘BEST (Business Excellence Smart Toolbox) Programme’.
- Lastly, ESS Defence was Highly Commended by the Global FM Awards for its ‘Junior Chef Academy delivered by ESS Defence’, which scooped the top prize in IWFM’s Social Value category.
